Fee Waiver Requests

If you cannot afford the application fee, you could send a fee waiver request, prepared by a school official. It is a document which says that you cannot afford the application fee.

If you can afford to pay all your college fees, then you do not apply for financial aid and write that you can pay for everything.  In this case it’s obvious that you’re rich enough to pay for the application fee, so it’s absurd to ask your school to prepare a fee waiver request for you.

If you can afford to pay for part of your education, and you declare that right now you have some bank savings, for example you show colleges that you have $ 8, 000, so you can contribute $ 2, 000 for each year at college, then, again, you have enough money to afford the application fee.

So, if you want to impress colleges with your money, be generous enough to pay for your application fees too … unless they are automatically waived by the college for some reason.
